The Attachments tab allows you to enter 1) ProjectWise links related to the project or attachments and 2) actual documents with file types ".mpp", ".txt", ".pdf", ".docx", ".xls", ".xlsx". Maximum size allowed is 3 MB.
Navigate to the Attachments tab
To navigate to this tab, click Attachments on the tab strip within a project.
When you click on the Attachments tab the following screen appears. The first section is for ProjectWise Links and the second section called Local Attachments is for uploading documents.
ProjectWise Links
You can add ProjectWise links by clicking the Add Link button. This will enable an inline table row where you can enter a description and then paste the *URN link. When finished, click the Update button. This will add the link along with the user name, date, and time when the link was added.
You can then click the link to navigate to the Project Wise folder.
*When you right click to copy a link in ProjectWise, you should be given the option to copy the URL or URN. It is recommended to use the URN, as these links will be less likely to need updated over time.
You may also revise or delete the ProjectWise Link.
- Edit a Link: simply click on the Pencil Icon, change the description or the actual link, then click the update button.
- Delete a Link: click on the delete (X) icon. A prompt displays to confirm that you want to delete the link. In the example below, we first updated the description of the last hyperlink, then we deleted the second hyperlink.
Local Attachments
Use this to add documents with file types ".mpp", ".txt", ".pdf", ".docx", ".xls", ".xlsx". Maximum size allowed is 3 MB.
- Download an attachment: Click the Select Files button. A popup appears to choose the file you want to upload. Once you've selected a file, click the Open button. The file is added and a confirmation given that the file was updated successfully. Click Ok to close the confirmation.
- Open an attachment: Click on the
icon. This will download the file to your computer. Most users will see the downloaded file on the lower left of the browser window. But, some users may have to navigate to their default download folder to see the file. Once you've located the downloaded file, click it to open it.
- Delete an attachment: Click on the delete (X) icon. A confirmation appears asking you to confirm file deletion. Confirm the deletion by selecting the red delete button. If you decide not to delete the file, click cancel.
